The bitcoin scaling debate has been roughly decided. Roughly speaking, the UTXO management model is the solution to scaling based on rough consensus and running code, and that's good thing, because it requires no soft fork. The OP_CODE argument for scaling seems much more in the realms of wishful thinking and hopium, and will struggle, because it does require a soft fork. We still have some problems such as bursts of high fees, mining centralization and the assinine inscriptions. But based on what is in use to today and what is being developed, bitcoin seems to be scaling quite well and developing new use cases.
